This volume comprises the farewell speeches held on the occasion of Margherita Spiluttini's farewell ceremony on 23 March 1923 in the Simmering crematory. The brochure is rounded up by a commentary that links the photographer's long history with the Architekturzentrum Wien and describes her relationship to architectural photography in greater detail.

Over 4,000 buildings in around 120,000 photographs – Margherita Spiluttini (1947-1923) documented this impressive amount of contemporary architecture from 1980 onwards, making her not only a chronologist, but above all a canoniser of Austrian and international architecture. Her extensive archive, part of the Az W collection since 2015, is a unique source for the visual communication of architecture.

The selection of speakers at the ceremony was made by Ina Watkins. Special thanks go to her for agreeing to the publication.

The brochure was based on an idea by Renate Kordon and Gabriele Lenz.
