The Other Suburbia: The Doktorberg housing estate by Carl Auböck and Harry Glück was already celebrated by the press when it was built at the end of the 1960s, as an alternative to the "spread of huts" in the Vienna Woods.

In 1969, the Aichfeld non-profit housing association advertised its 125 terraced houses with average plots of 500 sqm with a “particularly favourable landscape and climate at over 400m above sea level, above Kaltenleutgeben”. The dense low-rise housing estate offers five different types of floor plan as well as communal facilities with a swimming pool, sauna, tennis courts, clubhouse and communal garages, and is traffic-free except for access to parking spaces for cars. Residents organised a grocery store, a kindergarten and a car pool.
