Exhibition at The Imperial Furniture Collection: ‘Ernst A. Plischke – Furniture designer’
The life and work of the Austrian architect Ernst Anton Plischke (1903-1992) was divided into three phases by the political history of the 20th century:
The years of his education
his emigration to New Zealand from 1939 to 1963
his return to Vienna as a professor of architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts.
The exhibition at the Kaiserliches Hofmobiliendepot ‘Ernst Plischke – Furniture Designer’ is showing furniture designs from the 1920s and 30s on the occasion of his 100th birthday. All of the exponents are in private hands and being made accessible to the general public for the first time.
