Discussion Competition for Housing Developers

The publication of a book containing documentation of the Competition for Housing Developers in Vienna was initiated by the wohnfonds_wien for the first time two years ago, and has met with highly positive response from the competition participants but also from an interested specialist public.

On 29 May the third edition of this book is being presented, containing accounts of the entire thematic spectrum of the competition for 2007, which includes coverage of the closing of individual gaps between buildings — Small Projects — via urban developments close to the city centre — Eurogate — to an urban development along the extension to the U2 underground line — Mühlgrundgasse and Erzherzog-Karl-Strasse — adaptations of former industrial locations — Bombardier on Donaufelder Strasse.

The book presentation is followed by a discussion on the future of housing developers competitions, between representatives of the wohnfonds_wien, the City of Vienna, the Grundstücksbeirat special committee and the housing developers.
