The architecture prize for the ‘best house’ is being awarded for the third time in a competition launched by the s Bausparkasse in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture as well as the Architekturzentrum Wien and in collaboration with the regional Austrian architecture institutions.
The quality of the projects submitted in 2005 and 2007 and the press response have proven that this prize provides lasting inspiration for initiatives developed around the home, and that new concepts for single-family houses are to be found in the existing and continuing development of the countryside. The aim of the award is to find and honour the best single-family or multi-family dwellings in Austria. The exhibition encompasses the nine prize-winning projects, one from each of the federal states, and a selection of nominated projects.
