Az W on Site: Reality Check

10 years after the competition and 5 years after the residents moved in together with the architects we visit the project and its residents and pose a number of questions.

Where the green Prater comes to an end abd almost reaches the Danube SUPERBLOCK together with Johnny Winter designed and built 45 subsidised row houses. The concept allowed a high level of density combined with generous openness to the nearby green spaces. Houses with a compact floor area of 95 m2 distributed on three floors were intended to appeal to different user types. What is like to live in an experiment in density? How does neighbourliness function, what about opportunities to withdraw?
