Even gingerbread houses want designing. While the current exhibition ‘Architektur beginnt im Kopf. The Making of Architecture’ pursues the process behind the development of architecture, we have invited the participants to give free reign to their pre-Yuletide design fantasies for our annual advent tour. Before the paper and pencils are handed out, the curator Elke Krasny provides a short introduction to the exhibition, also introducing the doughy Xmas editions by one of the 20 offices represented in the exhibition as inspiration — The Jerde Partnership.
The fifteen most delicious gingerbread house designs are to be selected by a top notch jury — consisting of Vinzenz Bäuerle, CEO and bakery manager of the Kurkonditorei Oberlaa, Az W director Dietmar Steiner and exhibition curator Elke Krasny — and presented on the Az W website. The winning design is to be produced by the Az W team with the support of Herr Bäuerle to provide a special subject for this year’s Az W New Year postcard.
