To launch the rich and varied accompanying programme to a_show, a specially compiled evening of films (curator: Helmut Weihsmann) is taking a look at architecture film and its development in the 20th century.
A particular focus is given to the typical (of its time) in the architectural history of towns and cities on the basis of selected topics and rare examples of film-footage addressing issues both current and historical: metropolitisation, urbanisation and urban development at the beginning of the 20th century, Red Vienna, Viennese Modernism, Austro-Fascism, Nationalism, the post-war reconstruction and the extraordinary attempts at a second Modernism after the Second World War.
