A Party For BB
On Bogdan Bogdanovic’s 80th Birthday
An event by KulturKontakt Austria, Paul Zsolnay Verlag and the Architekturzentrum Wien
Bogdan Bogdanovic, born in 1922, was mayor of Belgrade, his hometown, from 1982 to 1986. He gained an international reputation with the legendary Concrete Flowers in Jasenovac or the now destroyed Mausoleum at Vukovar. With his books, Der Verdammte Baumeister (The Damned Master Builder) and Vom Glück In Den Städten, Bogdan Bogdanovic has created a new way to read urban and architectural experience. The architect and author has been living in exile in Vienna since 1993.
On the occasion of his 80th birthday, KulturKontakt Austria, Paul Zsolnay Verlag and the Architekturzentrum Wien are throwing a party to offer their congratulations to Bogdan Bogdanovic. During the ceremony the Federal Chancellery is to be honouring Bogdan Bogdanovic’s life work by awarding him the Austrian Cross of Honour 1st Class for academic and artistic achievement.
