What can architecture contribute in a context of the climate crisis? How do we want to live in the future? And, what is the impact of globalisation on our towns and villages? We scour the new permanent collection for answers. The housing policy of Red Vienna, for example, contributed to a radical improvement in housing conditions, while subsidised housing still ensures that housing prices do not rise as quickly as in other European countries and promotes the development of innovative spatial solutions. Architecture is a major contributor to CO2 emissions, but buildings can also generate energy. For example, the “Case Study House” uses an algae bioreactor façade which, in addition to its protective function against cold, heat, sound and sun, can also generate energy and absorb CO2 at the same time. Stimulated by these inspirations, you develop your own projects as models.
