The restructuring of the grounds around the former Südbahnhof has allowed for the large-scale development of a new city district. The face of Vienna has been radically altered around the new Vienna Central Station. While the buildings are still rising on the one side, everyday life is already bustling: a new train station, a residential quarter, a park, a museum and architecturally examplory company premises provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges of developing a new city district.
