Book presentation: Den Toten eine Blume

Bogdan Bogdanovic (1922-2010) created the legendary Concrete Flowers in Jasenovac and the memorial park in Vukovar which was rewarded the Piranesi prize. His monuments, memorials and necropolis in all parts of former Yugoslavia symbolize the cultural diversity as well as the tragic history of the Balcan. The common denominator is the attitude of their native Serbian creator: “inclusive not exclusive, joining not dividing” – Friedrich Achleitner about Bogdanovics singular architecture of remembrance in the 20th century.
