Workshop
Archikids: Clay houses in Nigeria
Workshops for the whole family!
Clay is the oldest building material on earth, and it has been used as the basis for building houses for as long as anyone can remember. Over the course of history it has repeatedly been superseded by new, industrially produced products. What makes clay buildings so unique? How do you build with clay, and is it really weatherproof? There are many questions about this building material, which has been experiencing a revival in recent years. The architect Hudson Uruejoma from Nigeria introduces us to the possibilities of this exciting raw material and shows us how it has been used for buildings in Nigeria. We then make our own mix and start building.
